Request: Wharton Family Members

The Wharton DNA Surname Project is seeking participation of members of the Philadelphia Wharton family (includes the Edward "Teddy" Wharton family into which Edith married). This project is currently characterizing several genes of the paternally-inherited Y chromosome of several lineages using the name Wharton. The results are a valuable tool for genealogists working to assess relationships among families with the same surname. Participation is easy using simple cheek swabs that are provided and returned by mail.
